Goodbye 2015!

Hello, visitor! First off I want to explain why I didn't get any Christmas cards posted. Unfortunately, I had a nasty accident with a glass vase and had to get 6 stitches on my hand 3 weeks ago....OUCH! To make things worse, it was my right hand, which is the one I write with. Needless to say, this slowed down my Christmas card making! :-/ Thankfully, I had some leftover from last year that came in handy. I did finally get quite a few made and sent out the last weekend before Christmas, because my stitches were out and my hand was feeling much better. However, I was in such a rush, I didn't get pics of my creations before rushing to the post office! :( I'm presently trying to make some Christmas cards for next year, since I'm still in the festive mood, so I may share some of those in my next post. In the meantime, I wish everyone a happy, healthy, blessed new year!

Bittersweet Thanksgiving

Hello All ~

I've been missing in action because I had a family emergency that required me to suddenly jump in the car and drive by myself almost 1,000 miles to see my Dad in the hospital....then a few days later help my Mom plan his funeral. :'( Thankfully, I was able to spend the first night in the hospital with him before he took a turn for the worse. He was in his late 80s, so he lived a full life, and the extended family was able to say their goodbyes before he left this earth for his heavenly home. We all miss him terribly, and Thanksgiving was not the same without him, but we're grateful he didn't suffer long. It was extra hard to drive the long trip home after enjoying the support and closeness of extended family and lifelong friends for two weeks, but it filled my heart with thankfulness that Mom will be well taken care of while she gets used to life without Dad.

I hope to share some of my Christmas cards with you soon, but I must first write many thank-you notes to all those who were so kind to our family during our loss.

Enjoy your parents while you can,
Lisa
